Angelo's Soul Food in Vilseck

The salmon was overcooked small and dry. Too expensive for frozen, boxed, and canned foods.

I'm not rating this, I just having a hard time finding this place... the address its saying isn't right. As if this place is somewhere else Does anyone have the address

This place gives me the feeling of being back home at my grandparents with good food and atmosphere.

We went to Angelos because thwre was such great things said about it. Unfortunately our experience didnt match. It was pleasant enough at first but upon waiting for our food our eyes started buring due to what i assume aa poor ventilation. We did wait a bit longer for our food hut i think that was due to us coming just as they opened. Unfortunately the chicken was extremely dry. That being said everythong else was great. Their macaroni was amazing as were their greens. My daughter loved her pork chopss and my husbamd said the catfish was good as well. My two youngest had chicken thighs unfortunately due to them being over cooked they got very little meat. Overall i think if it was from the very unpleasantness of our eyes burning i would have rated higher. To be fair we did not complain about it just tried to get out as quick as possi le

The food was good and is nice if you aren't in a hurry to get somewhere. Seriously if you have some place important to be at go to McDonalds for fast food. The place is ran by a retired service member. So english language isnt a problem.

This place remind me of a hole in the wall you would find driving on a southern back road. Hours are a bit odd, you may want to double check before heading over. The food was great, the chicken crisp and right out of the frier. Not sure what the put in the mac'n cheese, I've never had any thing like it before but was really good. The cabbage was also good but a bit spicy for me (mind you I have a very low spice tolerance). My daughter loved her corn and hotdog, my husband got the cat fish which was also very good.

Better than soul food from the states!

If you are in Southeast Germany and want proper soul food, this is the place to go. Granted, it took longer than it would at home but I think Angelo's the only one cooking. The wait was bearable and I enjoyed the fried chicken and mac and cheese. As someone mentioned, the greens did have more vinegar than I'm used to but it didn't ruin it. I'd ask him to not use as much if you're reading the reviews in advance. Loved the memorabilia, especially the 40 oz bottles LOL.

I was recommended to go to this restaurant as the food is good. The food is alright a bit too much vinegar in the greens but mashed potatoes are good. The chicken was hard because it is deep fried vs pan fried but the tea is good. My biggest problems with this place are that a) I was the only person with an order placed at the time and it took forever (20+ minutes) to get and b) the waitress kept wiping her nose every time I saw her but never washed her hands. In the end, it took a lot of self convincing to even try the food as my mom doesn't even do that at home. :/

If you're American and miss our all American soul food from back home, try Angelo's. It was awesome. Fried chicken, fried catfish, the rice, the smoked beans, the hush puppies and cornbread, the grilled salmon and greens, it's all amazing and it's got the Angelo's recipes' taste that you gotta try. If you're German and want to experience American soul food, this is the place. Thanks Angelo! Not just for the food but for your service as well.

I've been here twice now and the first time, it was terrible. I had the catfish and there was barely any fish in it at all. Just breading. I always said I wouldn't go back but my wife talked me into it again. The second time I went, it was on point. Had the catfish again and it was perfectly fried, perfectly seasoned. Paired it with the green and baked beans. Wow!! That's all I can really say to that. Very good food. Would recommend to anyone to try this place.

Great chicken. It's really hard to find a place in the states that fries really crunchy chicken without burning. And boom right here in little old Vilseck, Bavaria Angelo is throwing down. The baked beans were a real good mixture of sweet and savory. And the kool aid, which I haven't drank in years, was just like how everybody growing up used to make. Yeah the food takes a while, but they have a sign that says, we take long cause it's made with love. It's like the spoiler alert warning. Can't wait to come back soon. Probst!

Great service, a nice cook and sry but: GEILES FUTTER! The catfish and the ribs tasted really good.

Overall great experience! The service was amazing, food was 5 stars. Took a while for the meal to be cooked, but hey! You cant rush perfection! I'm defiantly coming back here with my family! <3
